From the audiences feedback I have learnt that my protagonist was represented in a positive way. my audience informed me that the protagonist was portrayed as a strong and inspirational character as she is only young but gets through a big struggle within her life. Although she is portrayed in this way, my audience said how they think the protagonist was also very venerable at times for example when she first injured herself and was highly upset about this as she believed it would ruin her chances in gymnastics. The contrast in the protagonists venerability and strength empathises how inspirational the character is.
My audience believed the tone used within my trailer is simple and clear which is necessary for this as my audience is young and therefore I did not want my trailer being complex for them to understand. My audience also thought the tone was happy and friendly which represents my protagonist as these are two of her main characteristics and as it is a drama and concentrates on this character I believe it is important to use this tone. On the other hand, my audience said the tone did change when my protagonist hurt herself as the tone becomes more emotional and negative. This also portrays the protagonists feelings at this point in the trailer as she is very down due to her injury.
The close up shots helped my audience to understand the trailer as they showed a deeper view into the protagonists feelings. For example at the beginning of my trailer the close up shot helped portray characteristics of my protagonist to the audience. I have also found that my audiences understanding of the trailer also increased by the use of reaction shots. These shots for example show the coach and friends reaction to the protagonists injury which helps portray how disappointed and shocked everyone is. This also helps to portray how she is liked as a person and how she is a good gymnasts as many people were effected by this event which was shown to the audience through reaction shots. Another way the protagonists friendly and happy characteristics are shown through the use of a two shot or three shot. This clearly shows the protagonist having fun with her friends.
My findings from my audience feedback have also shown that the location contributes to my trailer as the main location of the gym, shows the audience that the protagonist is a gymnast and spends a lot of her time in the gym. The fact she is in here with her friends also portrays to my audience that she has close relationships with fellow gymnasts and is close with her coach and everyone who is at this location. My audience also thought that the location of a home and outside in a friendly place made it easier for them to relate with the protagonist.
